Subject: Golf4, A3
In some cases, misaligned engine mounting brackets can transmit unusual engine noises or vibrations into the vehicle's interior, particularly above 3,000 RPM.
Solution:
Check the alignment of the bearings. To do this, the air filter housing must be removed, and the power steering reservoir must be detached.
1. Check the engine mounts:
Are the screw heads flush with the motor side of the support arm?
Clearance between the support arm and the motor housing: 12 - 14 mm?
2. Check the gearbox bearings:
Support arm parallel to the storage area?
Clearance between the support arm and the gearbox housing: 18 - 20 mm?
If an incorrect alignment is present:
Remove the plastic engine cover.
Mount the interceptor device.
Attach the carabiners.
Tighten the spindles securely.
Loosen the screws on the support arms.
Create an air gap of approximately 1 mm between the support arm and the console.
1. Adjust the engine mounts.
2. Adjust the support arm to the motor mount/housing.
Move the unit towards the gearbox side.
Insert a spacer (approximately 13 mm) between the support arm and the bearing. Shift the engine slightly towards the motor side.
3. Adjust the support arm to the motor console.
Create a clearance of 8-12 mm between the motor console and the motor mount by aligning the screw heads flush with the support arm. Tighten the screws on the motor console with a torque of 80 + 12 Nm. Make sure the support arm doesn't shift during the process.
4. Align the gearbox bearing and screw it in without applying any tension.
Align the support arm parallel to the bearing.
Create a distance of approximately 18-20 mm between the bearing and the support arm.
Tighten the screws with a torque of 80 + 12 Nm, ensuring that the support arm does not shift during the process.
The torque limit is not exceeded for the screws used in the generator bearings, so these screws can be reused.
Remove the spacer from the engine mount.
Detach the carabiner and remove the arresting device.
Install the engine cover, servo reservoir, and air filter.
Never loosen the fittings without using a suitable wrench. Tschüss

Hi Michael,
When I try to apply the instructions to my Golf 3, I already have some doubts about the necessity of this step, even when it comes to removing the airbox.
Therefore, the question is: for which vehicles does this document apply? Gruß Ulf

Hello Ulf,
I somehow managed to forget the specifications.
Okay, hier ist die Übersetzung:
"This refers to the Volkswagen Golf IV and the Audi A3." Tschüss
