Hello!

Can the display for the climate control be repaired by the user, or has anyone ever done that? The display flickers occasionally. Then the characters become visible for a longer period, then disappear completely.
Car: A4, year 1997.

That sounds like a bad solder joint to me.
Just resolder it, and it should work again.
