Hello,
I just bought a Passat 98 with the AFN engine. It has absolutely no turbo boost. I initially thought it was the mass airflow sensor (MAF), but that wasn't the problem. I then checked the vacuum actuator for the turbo and cleaned it, but it still didn't work. Now I've discovered that there are only 5 volts at the pressure transducer on the turbo. Could the engine control unit (ECU) be faulty? I directly applied vacuum to the turbo, and it briefly produced some power.

If you had bothered to use the search function regarding the topic of wastegate valve and your issue, you would have INDEPENDENTLY found the answer icon_rolleyes.gif, as to what type of voltage is present there... AND: READ PROFESSIONAL ARTICLES!!!!
Does anyone actually pay attention to Rainer's preface anymore? icon_evil.gif

Best regards,
Dirk.

[Translating...]Nicht Pin 1 gegen Pin2, sondern Pin 1 oder 2 gegen Masse messen!

Bei einem muß Batteriespannung anliegen!
