Hello,
As far as I know, a general rule of thumb is that any change in the intake air temperature will shift the combustion and exhaust temperatures by the same amount, either upwards or downwards.
During my research for articles on technical topics (effects of tuning modifications, etc.), I haven't been able to find any concrete information on how increasing boost pressure (without other modifications) affects combustion pressure, and especially the peak pressure inside the cylinder, which in turn affects the cylinder head gasket (ZKD) – its stress levels and the likelihood of failure, etc.
My imagination isn't really helping me either. Does the pressure curve during complete combustion (approximately) get multiplied by the same factor as the absolute boost pressure?
Or does having a bit more unused air in the cylinder make a difference?
Please provide input. Gruß Ulf
