Two weeks ago, my friend's engine seized. While starting from a red light (no kickdown, I was in the car), there was a sudden jolt, and then the crankshaft failed. The engine is a 75 horsepower diesel (GTD? AAZ). It had 265,000 kilometers on the clock and was manufactured in 1994.
Now there's a completely new engine in it, with 75 horsepower again. Could you give me some tips for breaking it in?
'I need to add something so the engine runs properly. The old engine was completely ruined by his father (it wouldn't work).'
Could you please post some tips on how to start the engine properly so that it runs well?
Could you please run a few search iterations ?
This topic has already been discussed in many threads here... so, do some searching and find what works for you, because there probably isn't a single, ultimate "break-in" recipe.
