Adjusting the Lucas fuel injection pump

While my car might not have all the latest technology, you can still achieve a lot with just wrenches, a bit of intuition, and the help of a VAG-COM diagnostic tool.

'Today, I adjusted the idle speed of my Skoda Felicia LX 1.9D, reducing it by about 200 RPM. Now it idles smoothly at 900 RPM, whereas before it was quite erratic.'

Here's the translation:

'To help me, you'll probably need some information about the pump. As I said, it's called Lucas and it's installed in my Skoda, but it's the standard VAG 1.9 SDI model.'

VAG-Com says the following about it:

I hope you can help me. I want to adjust this thing so that I have less idle speed and more power at the top end. I've already thought about dynamic additional boost reduction, but I want to see what I can achieve first using the available settings.
