I have an ALH engine with a chip and a boost pressure that goes up to just under 1.6 bar icon_eek.gif, and it's regulated between 1.2 - 1.3 bar. The boost pressure seems a bit too high to me. Now, I want to make the VTG linkage a bit longer. Can someone explain to me how to do this and what steps are involved? Do I need any special tools?

Thank you!

Hello,

A useful addition would be a diagnostic system that allows you to observe the filling process, or a pressure gauge, which you probably already have.
There's not much else to say: you can see everything when you look at the adjustment rod.
By the way, 0.5 to 2 rotations make a huge difference and should definitely be enough. Okay, just keep it simple.

Best regards, Rainer.

In which direction should I turn now, downwards or upwards? Can I do this manually, or do I need a key?

If you don't have adjustable wrench jaws, you'll need a wrench (usually 10mm).

You'll have to figure out yourself how your specific charger is set up (whether the canister is standing or hanging, and the design of the adjustment mechanism – for example, it might be different between Garrett and KKK).
