TDI Auxiliary Heater - Stand Heater?

Hi.

We've recently started driving a 1.4L Lupo TDI, manufactured in 2000. The car takes about 1/2 to 1 kilometer to warm up (to reach warm interior air). Does the car have an auxiliary heater? And if so, can it be converted into a parking heater?
Has anyone ever installed a parking heater in a Lupo and can offer advice? What brand would you recommend, and what's the level of effort involved?

The engine certainly has the usual three-glow-plug auxiliary heater.

The thing CANNOT be converted to a standing heater because you would first have to install a generator (a 1.4 TDI engine is quite suitable for that ).

I can't say anything about installing a proper standing heater.

The 3L Lupo has an electric heating element that activates starting around the 1 o'clock position on the heating switch. This allows the vehicle to warm up in a reasonable amount of time, despite the lower heat loss.

Diesel auxiliary heaters in the Lupo should have been disclosed when the car was sold. It's also possible that they are electric heaters, like the ones Ulf has in his Polo ventilation system. These only heat the interior air, not the coolant.
Otherwise, if you bought the Lupo used, I can't imagine that it has a diesel-powered auxiliary heater installed, because VW never offered that as an option on the Lupo price list. And if someone retrofitted something, it would likely be a proper stand-alone heater, which is completely separate from an auxiliary heater. Also, you would hear this heater running next to the car if it continues to run for a short time after a drive!

The Lupo likely has the same electric heater as Ulf's 9N model – meaning PTC heating elements are used in the heating system instead of glow plugs.

As a solar home system, you can't use it like that, because the battery would be drained very quickly.
