Hello,

Is it correct to have as many label files as possible in a folder? And does it matter whether you include German files in an English VGA version, or vice versa? Will they still work?

Greetings and thank you.

Hi,

good that you ask icon_smile.gif
Maybe.
You can do it intelligently, like for example on http://openobd.org (Download Area), or unintelligently.
It's considered intelligent when a) the label files are correct, and b) the wildcards provided by VAg-COM for different control unit variants are used. This allows a single file to cover multiple control units.
It's unintelligent to save the file multiple times with different names using Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V for each variation.

Best regards, Rainer.

For stress-free operation, with current VAG-COM versions (409.x and higher), it is recommended to save new label files in the 'VAG-COM/labels/user/' subfolder, as this folder is searched first.

It's unintelligent to use Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V for each variation and save the file x times under different names.

That reminds me of someone... *g*

Thank you very much in the meantime.
Is there a more recent German demo version available that works with optocouplers? I still have version 0.81.

Greetings.

Hello,

I have no interest in providing support for such outdated technology.
You can find a current demo of the product, along with the kit, in our shop.
http://shop.dieselschrauber.de/product_info.php/cPath/21/products_id/38

Just a reminder: version 0.81, which is quite old, might not be compatible with current label files.

Best regards, Rainer.
