Hi,
I will be purchasing a used DRW transmission on Monday for a conversion on my AFN vehicle. icon_biggrin.gif
'Are there any known issues that typically arise around 20,000 km that I can check for visually? Also, what can I inspect without having to do any major work on the spot?'

The following parts are also included: two drive shafts, a matching gear stick, a dual-mass flywheel, and a clutch disc.
Are there any specific things I should be aware of?

The search unfortunately didn't yield much information icon_sad.gif.

Thank you for the tips, which I am sure I will receive.

Best regards,

Generally, it's difficult to assess the internal condition of a gearbox just by looking at it from the outside.
However, a car with 20,000 km on the odometer makes me think about something.
Why would someone replace a gearbox after only 20,000 km, especially a 6-speed one that's relatively long-geared?
"Why does a gearbox, which has been around for so long, only have 20,000 km on it?"

What I mean is, carefully check if the mileage is accurate. If the clutch is included as you mentioned, that could provide some clues. However, also pay attention to any embedded manufacturing year markings.

Otherwise, it's hard to go too wrong.

The gearbox was supposedly bought from a car dismantler (for a conversion costing €1600 a year ago), and I'll inquire about an invoice or similar. It then probably lay around in that area due to a lack of mechanical skills icon_cool.gif. And now the car is scrap, which is where it was supposed to be installed.

Okay, I'll take a look at it. It's supposed to cost €950.

Perhaps someone has a picture of a clutch with 20,000 km icon_biggrin.gif.
I have never seen such a low mileage on a clutch before icon_confused.gif. It's something you rarely come across icon_biggrin.gif.
