Hello,
I'm confused!
I have a G3 variant with an AFN engine, manufactured in August 1997.
"When I look at Ulf's post about the function of vacuum control and compare it to my setup, I don't understand some things. Directly from my vacuum pump, there are hoses going to the EGR valve and the brake booster, which seems okay so far. Then, a hose branches off, one part going to a vacuum reservoir and the other to a small electric valve, whose output then disappears into the injection system towards the engine compartment. What is this valve for? When I look at Ulf's post, I only see a valve for the shut-off flap, but my engine doesn't have something like that."

Greetings.
Reuselkopp.

Do you have air conditioning?

It is likely that this switch controls the recirculation system.

Furthermore, you forgot to mention the connection to the VTG icon_smile.gif.

Okay, please provide the German text you would like me to translate into English. I will only provide the translation.

Hello Dieselmartin,
Yes, my car has air conditioning. Does that hose belong to it?
Oops, I forgot to include the hose for the VTG (Variable Transmission Gear) in the list!

Greetings.
Reuselkopp.

Just try it out.

Okay, disconnect the hose, engage the starter, and turn the recirculation system on/off.

You shouldn't notice any difference if the recirculation flap is controlled using this type of pressure regulation.
