Hello fellow diesel enthusiasts,

I'm currently looking for a new heating oil heater.

Right now, I'm driving an ASV with 110 horsepower and a performance chip, and I'm very happy with it.

I would like to buy an A4 station wagon with a 1.9 TDI PD engine, 130 horsepower, and quattro all-wheel drive.

I would have to drive it for at least 5 years, which means a total mileage of approximately 150,000 km.

Now, my question...

- What about the longevity of this engine? (I can assure proper maintenance).

- Are there any known issues?

- Wie sehen denn die Fahrleistungen aus?? Experiences??

Thank you for your responses.

You can also contact me directly.

Greetings from Lake Constance.

Hi.

If someone knows something of value, they usually share it.

However, since this is a relatively new engine, and not exactly a standard engine option, there likely aren't any reliable long-term experiences available yet.
(There might be a few already, but those who drive long distances don't seem to be participating in this forum.)

If I were to buy a new TDI, the 96kW model would also be a strong contender: it's not quite as overpowered as the 110kW version, it has almost the same torque, and it seems there are very few horror stories about premature failures.

Hi Ulf,

'Thank you very much.'

The only thing I know about this engine is that it has a significant amount of vibration.

And he doesn't particularly 'like' alternating between load and tension, and he responds to it with a slight 'jerky' movement.

'Hi there' or 'Greetings' (informal)

Hi Tobias,

What exactly do you mean by "torsional rigidity"?

Otherwise, you might want to search or ask in the GuteFahrt forum. There you'll find more "enthusiasts" than here, although their level of technical knowledge might be "less advanced."

Hi Ulf,

By 'torsional vibration,' I mean that the free mass force (unbalanced oscillating mass forces of the second order) and the internal bending moment are not compensated. This is actually normal for a 4-cylinder engine (a 6-cylinder in-line engine is completely balanced due to the arrangement of the cylinders and the 6 combustion strokes), but in the case of pre-diesel technology, the high combustion pressures in the combustion chamber further exacerbate this.

You can feel this as a strong 'rumbling' sound from the engine while driving.
It feels like the engine isn't running smoothly.

Greetings.

@ Tobi:

I've never noticed any misfiring issues with my car. It runs just like my 81 kW Golf 3 or my 51 kW Golf, only with more power. icon_biggrin.gif
