You probably mean SKF! The company is located in Schweinfurt and is also affectionately referred to as "KuFi" (a shortened form of "Kugel-Fischer") among insiders.

Radial shaft seals (also known as oil seals) are available at most automotive parts stores. The fact that VW no longer sells them individually has to do with more than just price gouging.
In the past, there were too many errors in the workshop related to improperly installed or damaged Simmering rings.
This meant that the customers had to bring their cars back, and the workshop had to remove the transmission again, take off the clutch and flywheel, replace the oil seal, and reassemble everything.
To prevent this "loss-making" situation, the sealing flanges will only be offered as complete replacement parts from now on.
