Hey everyone!

I have a question.
Why don't TDI engines with wastegate turbos have a blow-off valve?

Perhaps a silly question, but is this valve present in gasoline engines?

When the throttle closes in a gasoline engine, the excess pressure is released through the blow-off valve.
I know these don't have a throttle valve, but what happens to the excess pressure that is still temporarily present?
Does it normally enter the combustion chamber and function properly?

Who knows a little bit about this?

In a gasoline engine, without a blow-off valve, the turbine wheel is braked by the back pressure from the throttle valve, causing the turbocharger to lose speed and the boost pressure to decrease. The blow-off valve simply redirects the air... to put it simply.

For diesel engines, there is no diesel knock (DK) that slows down the turbocharger.

hi!

'Nowadays, there are also these valves available for TDi engines. However, the prices start at around €179 at [company name]. It would be great if there was an instruction manual for doing it yourself, so that you would only need to buy this valve.'
I heard it once and didn't think it was that bad for a diesel.

And what does it achieve besides 'TSTSTSTSTS'? Absolutely nothing, not even a single thing, except for emptying your wallet!!!

Search function rocks!

Sure, if you look at it that way, you might as well buy a Fiat Panda, it'll still get you there!

That's not what's important here! I posted this under this title because it was the first thing I found on the page related to the topic of blow-off valves for TDI engines.
'If you don't want to contribute anything useful, please don't post here! I know this isn't a tuning-specific website, but I've had good experiences with it and received helpful advice. If someone offers a cost-effective solution to my question, I would consider installing that 'TSTSTSTSTS' thing in my car. I wasn't trying to force that on you, and I've never claimed that it's a must-have.'

Here's the translation:

'What problem does this part solve, and is it a cost-effective solution? As I said, this part is useless for a TDI!'

2. Do you know this? }
I think you've gotten yourself into quite a mess!

3. There have already been several discussions regarding the usefulness or lack thereof of these 'blow-offs.' Please search for and read these discussions.

Here it is again, for you. It seems this topic isn't letting you rest!

'quote:'

'...a set of instructions for making it yourself, so that you would only need to buy this valve, would be a great thing icon_smile.gif '
I heard it once and didn't think it was that bad for a diesel.

The question is whether someone has enough knowledge to list all the necessary parts and perhaps document the process with pictures, so that a novice can install it themselves for a reasonable price.

I didn't want to create such a fuss about it, and I don't understand why so much needs to be written *around* the topic. Or did I make my request for instructions so incomprehensible?

And I'm curious about your intention to throw money away. But I don't care, it's your money. And don't say we didn't warn you!

Furthermore, installation instructions can be found on various websites offered by different providers of this type of technology.

That's probably my own business. Some people have horses, ride through history, and invest thousands of euros in them – each to their own. I just happen to like putting a loud exhaust system on my car.
'And for that, I was seeking advice. If you had provided the links now, I would have been completely satisfied and wouldn't have had to post here unnecessarily three times.'

'Nevertheless, thank you for trying to protect me from making mistakes.'
