I probably wrote that a little too quickly...

Hello, and good day.

I have a question for the community. Since I'm new here, please be kind.

My ACV (Audi/Volkswagen control unit) has a control unit with the part number 074 906 018 AM.
Can I also use a 074 906 018 B with the appropriate reprogramming?

Thank you in advance.

Plumber's Quay.

Could you please tell me the year of manufacture? What type of file is it? Is there an SG/AG number, for example, SG 3321?

Hello Peter,

Year of manufacture or first registration: 2004 / Last Edition. The serial number is currently unknown because the documentation is at home.

No, that's not possible. The 018B is an 88 hp engine!

Thank you.

It's not possible to simply replace the chip in this control unit and then unlock the rest of the functions like with a GRA (Generic Reset Algorithm).

Okay, then I'll search for the right one.

Thank you very much.

Kai.

Hello Kai,
was ist denn mit dem 018AM? Defective?

The AM data might be running in environment B, but it doesn't necessarily have to be (and the probability is the opposite).
You could use 018C as the ACV data point for the 018B (since 018C is larger).

Best regards,
Rudi

Hello Rudi,

Okay. Pin 1 of the chip is missing on the control unit side. But surprisingly, everything still works. This probably happened during repeated chip changes. The problem is, or was, that the boost pressure, despite multiple adjustments and checks, doesn't go higher than 0.8 bar. This isn't just detectable with VAG Com; I also have a display that shows the same thing. If I connect a 20k ohm resistor between the boost pressure sensor, I get 0.9 bar. But that's not the point, since the chip itself should have been modified.

Maybe someone has an idea.

Best regards,

Kai.

Hello Kai,
What have you changed multiple times (or who has been messing around with the file icon_confused.gif)?
800 hPa (or 845 hPa) are the standard values.

Best regards,
Rudi

It seems someone forgot a lookup table icon_rolleyes.gif.

Do you have the file? If so, please send it to me.

Hello,

I had already suspected that, and that's why I went there, as I know the company's CEO (whose name is 3 letters long). After re-checking the license plate and re-installing the part with increased pressure, it still has the same problem: 0.8...

"I had another chip from a different tuner for this control unit, so I installed it, but still not enough boost pressure. However, it produced less power than the company with the three-letter name. XXX has no explanation for this. When I disconnect and block the hose to the boost pressure control valve, I get excessive boost pressure. So, the system is working correctly, and there are no leaks."

Regarding the car: VW T4 Last Edition with ESP and 102 hp, first registration 04, manufactured 03.

Best regards,

Kai.

If you have the file (or either of the two), could you please send it to me as a private message?

Best regards,
Rudi

Hello Rudi,

Since I don't have the equipment to read the chip, I'm unable to do that. I could, at most, send you the chip by mail, as I have three different versions, but none of them affect the boost pressure.

Kai.

You can also send the chip; no problem.

@rudi

If you have the chip, could you possibly send me the file?

To whom do you want to send the chip?

Do you want my address, or Rudi's?
