Is this a box or a chip?
I currently assume that it is a tuning box from Princiotta.
You can easily pass the technical inspection (TÜV) without a catalytic converter.
Oh yeah, and there's also a way to register your car for the 'box' (a specific type of parking permit), but you have to go there in person (to Princiotta).
Are these tests from Auto Motor Sport or something similar? How do they compare to the KW Systems box?

I don't have a tuning box installed. And Princiotta does indeed produce chips, and they're quite good; I can gladly send you a test one. The chip only produces a little over 20 horsepower, so I'm not really worried about it.
...
@zpeedster
He has a chip, not a box!
You're not the first person to associate 'princetta' solely with box tuning (see above)...

It would be great if you could scan the test.
I consider it 'unprofessional' not to adjust the boost pressure when increasing the power by 20 horsepower.
That reminds me of an American tuner who programs super chips ( ).
(Caution, satire). They have managed to realize a box inside the chip .
'A pressure difference of 0.2 bar is acceptable... As long as the tuning isn't just about adjusting the pump voltage.'
It was assumed (*pessimistically*) that if something was possible for regular employees, it should also be possible for those on parental leave.
Best regards,
Rudi

With 20 extra horsepower without increasing the lambda value, it's likely already running close to the soot limit. If larger injectors are now installed, it's perfectly clear what will happen. An additional 0.2 bar should be enough, but a proper tuning is definitely preferable to any modifications.
If the excess diesel power is then converted into forward thrust, the clutch problems could potentially start, as there isn't always a lot of reserve power available (though it might seem like it).

hi,
Okay, I've now soldered in the resistor. You were right, it could have also been soldered in as an SMD component, it's not that fine... but never mind.
It measured 26.9 kOhms.
"I don't notice anything at all in the lower RPM range. It's still producing some smoke (maybe not as much, but it could be my imagination). I only notice that it seems to perform a bit better around 160 km/h. I have no idea what's going on."
I logged the data in the graph (10+11), and it only briefly exceeds 2000 mbar (which is approximately 1 bar) once. Otherwise, it settles down to around 0.9 bar.
I thought that the value displayed in field 10-3 would be the intake manifold pressure, which is the value it should be showing me correctly? Or have I misunderstood something?
Have I perhaps forgotten something important?
"The car is fun to drive, but I don't like the soot it produces... During a speed test, I was on the same level as my brother's car (an A6 2.5 TDI 150HP with 225 tires)."
I think that should be okay. They are size 7 and have a 215 size sole.
I'll post a Screenshot of the graph later.
I'm not worried about the clutch; I don't let the tires spin, and I don't floor it in first gear. Besides, I have another clutch in the basement. I bought the car with an engine problem. The previous owner was too clueless to even change the oil; he didn't tighten the drain plug properly and then drove it onto the highway...
The engine doesn't misbehave at all. When I start in first gear using only the clutch and then give it a little gas, it responds immediately and without any turbo lag. The turbo kicks in before 1500 RPM, which you can definitely feel!
It only smokes quite a bit in the first and second gears... :\\
(the engine has also been driven less than 100,000 kilometers).
Okay, thanks again for the help. It would be great if we could completely get rid of the problem... Man muss es nicht brauchen, aber man muss es haben!

By altering the resistance within the control unit, the sensor's measured value is distorted.
Das STG regelt weiterhin auf ca. 0,9bar Überdruck und zeigt diesen Wert auch an. Merely.
It no longer corresponds to reality (for example, it might then be 1.1 bar).
If you want to see the actual boost pressure, you should (it's generally a good idea anyway) install an LDA.
install.
It would be nice if the problem could be completely eliminated...
I'm afraid that without a software change, it won't work .
Best regards,
Rudi

I was already thinking that, but I thought the sensor before the LLK (low-level coolant) should be showing the correct value, right?? Which measurement block is that actually? Or can you not read that data out on a Golf?
I'm still working on that LDA thing. I need to get around to it.
I'll probably have to get someone else to handle the software, but until then, I'll try to manage it as best as I can. Man muss es nicht brauchen, aber man muss es haben!

There is only one boost pressure sensor – it's the one located in the control unit, which is visible in your photo.
The hose connected to this sensor measures the pressure at the intake manifold (i.e., behind the air-to-water heat exchanger).
Meinst du evtl. den Sensor für den Umgebungsdruck (auch Höhenfühler)? Der is either...
in the control unit or in the area of the air filter housing (this should have been the case in the older Golf models, if I remember correctly).
It should still display the same pressure as before (approximately 1 bar).
Measurement blocks:
10:
1.angesaugte Luftmasse 2. Umgebungsluftdruck 3. Ladedruck 4. Accelerator pedal position.
11:
1. n Mot: Engine speed
2. LDR (target): Target load pressure
3. LDR (actual): Actual load pressure
4. Duty cycle of MV (mechanical vacuum) for boost pressure limiting (N75)
What is the part number of your ECU? Until you change the software, it might be more sensible to...
to use the original EEPROMs (I can send you the data if necessary) and...
- if the performance is absolutely insufficient - if necessary, increase the injection quantity by more than 10 cents.
increase it so that it doesn't smoke.
Best regards, Rudi.

That would certainly be an idea...
I believe that the solution with the chip is worse than the solution with 10c.
I'll try it out with the original EEPROM (if I can find one, I'll have to look for it) and get back to you.
I meant the sensor that's located in the charge air pipes, which run across the engine.
I have no idea what his name is. Man muss es nicht brauchen, aber man muss es haben!

Oh, crap, I thought this was a printer.
Okay, then I'll just wait until I have an LDA installed... Man muss es nicht brauchen, aber man muss es haben!
