Hello!
I drive a Seat Cordoba GT TDI, manufactured in 1999, model 6K, with 110 horsepower.
First, the code was read from the old ABS, with the following result:
03 - Brake electronics.
1J0907379 G
ABS 20 IE CAN 0001
Encoding: 0
Then the ABS unit was replaced. It accepts the "0", but the diagnostic tool no longer shows any errors, but the ABS and brake warning lights are now constantly flashing. As far as I understand from the forum, it should be a multi-digit code.
I hope someone can help me.
Thank you in advance.
Christian.
Here's the background: Suddenly, the ABS light would occasionally illuminate. For the past few weeks, it has been on constantly, and recently, the brake warning light has also been on continuously. And to make things even more interesting, the brake warning light is no longer illuminating at all when the ignition is turned on. However, after driving about 2 km, it starts illuminating constantly again. During the inspection at the workshop, the diagnostic device displayed the message "ABS control unit defective" (without a specific error code!), and further navigation within the brake electronics menu was not possible. After checking all other components such as sensors, connectors, fuses, etc., and confirming that they were in order, I purchased a used ABS unit.
