Hello, I have a power box, and I think it might be set too high. Anyway, I always get an error when I have it connected, and the motor goes into emergency mode.
I opened the box and found a small screw inside.
How far do I need to turn it, and for how long?
It's a Golf 3 with a 1Z engine.

Given the extremely precise description of the box here, my suggestion is:
Try turning it a quarter to a full turn to the right or left . Gruß Ulf

Sure, what should I write? I was there when it was bought. *g*
Okay, so it says 'ASA tuning box' on it, so it's not a branded product.
Okay, then I'll try that, or maybe I'll come up with another idea now.

Turn the knob in both directions all the way, and note the number of rotations in each direction. (Note: Potentiometers with a spindle may not have hard stops, but instead will continue turning and make a very faint clicking sound once per rotation.)
Then, you adjust the knob to the middle position between the two extremes, and during the test drive, you'll at least get a preliminary comparison. Gruß Ulf

Okay, so I turned left, and the light comes on. When I turn right, the engine almost stalls, and the light is also on. So, if I turn left, the light comes on, but I don't hear any clicking.
It's a tuning kit from Autotechnik Saretz.

I once looked at the website. The picture of the box doesn't actually look like the worstthing ever.
Therefore, I suspect that the device turns on immediately or prematurely (instead of waiting for the RWG check), which could cause a malfunction -> either get it repaired or discard it. Gruß Ulf

Here's how it works with a diagnostic device:
Open the engine control unit with VAG-COM, and in measurement channel 7 or 8, you will see the fuel temperature. Turn the screw to the left or right until the temperature reaches its maximum value (approximately 125°C). If you go further, you will see an "ERROR" message. (Clear the error memory). At 110°C, everything is optimized for me, and I don't get any error messages even in the summer. Best regards, gagag.

I contacted the company, and the guy said I should try turning it two notches to the right, which I'm going to do now. Let's see; at least there are no more errors in the memory*g*.
