Hello,
Currently, I'm using a Škoda that belongs to a friend. It occasionally goes into limp mode, primarily when the engine is only partially warm (e.g., when overtaking), especially when you suddenly accelerate.
I once read the error codes.
I once replaced the coolant sensor, and then I got the error code 17965, which indicates that the regulated limit has been exceeded. Since this only happens sporadically, I can rule out faulty hoses.
"When it runs, it runs really well. The only thing is, you can hear the turbo whistling (louder than normal)."
I'm going to replace the sensor, but it probably isn't the problem. What about the turbo?
Has anyone else experienced similar problems?
This afternoon, I'm going to do a precise measurement and log the data. I'll add more information accordingly later.
Thank you in advance for your help!
Best regards,

Can you also rule out a jammed VTG (Variable Transmission Gear)?

Can a sticking VTG (variable transmission gear) sometimes stick intermittently? It seems to mostly happen when the system is cold. It almost never happens when it's warm.
I only know the story about the 1z.
What can be done with the turbo? Can it be completely disassembled and cleaned, or is that pointless? Man muss es nicht brauchen, aber man muss es haben!

Yes, I'm reading it now.
I'll do a measurement right after work and then check the clearance of the container. I'll get back to you later.
By the way, is that the ASV?
I'm just surprised that the whole thing is temperature-dependent. Man muss es nicht brauchen, aber man muss es haben!

The funny thing is, the problem existed from the beginning, and the dealer always said it was perfectly normal. The owner just didn't think anything of it and would just turn the engine off and on briefly. Man muss es nicht brauchen, aber man muss es haben!

It's quite astonishing how many flaws some people allow themselves to be convinced are "normal" .
Is there anything else that can be done regarding the warranty, or has the dealer successfully avoided responsibility by using the "normal wear and tear" excuse? Gruß Ulf

Unfortunately, he withdrew from the situation, and the car no longer has a warranty.
I just compared the actual data to the target values, and everything is within the acceptable range. The charging pressure peaked at a maximum of 1.2 bar for a very short time, and otherwise was around 1.1 bar.
The LMM values were also quite good (840 instead of 850 shouldn't make too much of a difference).
I'm going to get under the car now and take a look at the strut. Man muss es nicht brauchen, aber man muss es haben!

Did you actually use the search function? I found a thread that fits perfectly. Same error code, same problem... Please make an effort and read it. If you combine everything written there with what you've posted here, I think you'll be able to solve the problem without further assistance. Your posted measurements are nice and good, but they don't provide much information. They don't initially reveal the load condition or the target value specified by the control unit. For actions like this, it's helpful to always present Mwb 3.8.11 data as an Excel chart for each individual Mwb. This allows you to quickly locate the potential error.
My opinion: Sticking/difficult-to-move/misaligned vintage valve control.

Okay, I've logged the MWB (Material Weight Breakdown) data. I'll include it in the diagram later.
The rod moves smoothly and effortlessly.
I returned the car for now. Let's see when the problem reappears.
What I've noticed is that the timing belt or the ribbed belt makes a terrible whistling noise up to about 70 km/h.

"Interestingly, I replaced the coolant temperature sensor and blew out the pressure sensor a few times (using a 125ml syringe), and so far, the problem hasn't reappeared."
Hopefully, it stays that way... Man muss es nicht brauchen, aber man muss es haben!
