1Z Tuning: Diagnose Problems & Solutions

I've now built a diagnostic connector and tried to read the data from the control unit, but it's not really working.

It's a 1Z engine from a vehicle manufactured in 09/1997, with engine control unit number 028 906 021 FB.

Since the engine is no longer going to be installed in a Vento but in a T3, I have modified the wiring harness to fit the T3. In doing so, I noticed that I only have one K-line and no L-line. Is that possible? Or is the L-line the diagnostic cable from the WFS (Workshop Information System)?

Can the adapter be tested without being connected to the car?

Ein paar Angaben wären schon erforderlich! Welchen Adapter hast Du gebaut? Welche Vag-Com Version nutzt Du? Welche computertechn. Hardware?

Have you read the technical article on diagnostics? You should find most of the important information there. Also, the search function should be able to find something. Take a look; you might find a lot of useful information. Are you sure the K-line actually reaches the control unit?
