Hi,

Can someone explain to me what the values for "oil entry" and "oil wear" refer to?

After now having driven 3500 km with my "new" car, the readings show 18 (meaning 1800 km) under "oil consumption" and 0 (meaning 0 km) under "oil loss".

What do these kilometer values indicate?

By the way, for your information:

The customization of the consumption display, as indicated at /viewtopic.php?t=1037, is no longer possible for advertisements starting from 05/01!!

Hi Bertil,

On http://www.service.beetle24.de/, you will find the following explanation under "Longlife Service":

"By comparing the engine speed and oil temperature with the 'oil' characteristic curve stored in the engine control unit, a distance comparison value is calculated in meters."
So, if you actually drive 10 km with cold oil and high RPMs, for example, 40 km might be "deducted" to account for the increased wear and tear reflected in the maintenance records.

Similarly, the comparison of engine speed and engine load is made with the "soot" characteristic curve stored in the engine control unit. This results in a "soot load" value, which will also be included in the overall mileage calculation.

These two distance calculation values and the actual driving distance are continuously added separately as three variables within the engine control unit.

Now, the engine control unit calculates the remaining distance until the next scheduled service based on these three values and a time interval of 1 second.

You are taking good care of your engine when it is cold icon_wink.gif.
Gruß

Now, all that's needed is to know how to calculate the remaining time based on these values... unfortunately, I can't display that information icon_sad.gif.

If you constantly strain engines that are cold, don't be surprised if they have a short lifespan.
Nothing happens with my rally car when the oil temperature is below 90 degrees!

So, I've seen this before with Audi cars. It displays the remaining service interval.
Regarding the remaining mileage, I would say it's 50,000 km (the maximum value). So, when the first reading reaches 50,000 km, I will be sent for an inspection.

Did I understand that correctly???

Hab ich das so richtig verstanden???

It would be perfectly logical, but trial and error is the key...

I can set both values up to a maximum of 60,000 km, but the service indicator doesn't care about that at all. Even if I set the minimum interval to 2,000 km...

I couldn't figure out any logical connection using a single battery charge.

With the 1Z, these problems did not yet exist. icon_biggrin.gif icon_biggrin.gif icon_biggrin.gif
