Hello,
According to the documentation, the oil pipes from the filter to the turbocharger appear to be partially disassembled in some cases, depending on the specific engine code.
The ASZ engine has the following part numbers: 038 145 771 AA for the Leon, 771 N for the Octavia and Golf, 771 G for the Ibiza, and 771 R for the Polo and Sharan/Alhambra.
The ARL uses the 771 AA in the Leon and the 771 N in the Golf. The BPX also uses the 771 N.
The new 150 hp 1.9-liter engine in the Sharan/Alhambra, codenamed BTB, has the same part number (771 R) as the ASZ, but features a KKK turbocharger instead of the GT1749VB.
I'm now wondering if the GT1749VB turbocharger I want to install in my Polo also requires a different oil feed pipe (like the 771 N used in the ARL Golf), or if I can continue using the 771 R without the turbo suffering from oil starvation.
Does anyone here know anything about the different types of oil pipes?
Is the oil flow in the loader determined by the various pipes and their inner diameters?
It doesn't seem to be related to the different oil filter housings (Golf vs. Polo platform): For example, the Ibiza BPX has the "compact" filter unit of the Polo, but still uses the same oil pipe as the Golf with its larger filter unit...
Oh yes: the oil pump is the same for all of the engines mentioned. Gruß Ulf
