Compatible Tank Caps: 6N0 vs 1H0?

Are the two fuel senders compatible with each other? The first one is installed in an Ibiza TDI, and the second one is in a Golf 3 TDI. They look the same visually, except that one is black and the other is white.

Unfortunately, I don't have access to the file right now. If you already have both of them and can visually confirm that they are identical except for the color, then connect a measuring device to one of them and check the values (both static and while you're moving the sensor).

I could imagine that the fuel tank design of the two vehicles is different, which might lead to the use of different fuel level sensors. However, this is just a speculation, and it could just as easily be a software issue.
