Hi,

To connect an LDA (Linear Density Analyzer) for testing purposes to a 1Z, AHU, or AFN engine, you simply install a T-connector in the hose leading to the engine control unit (where the sensor is located).

How can I do something like that _temporarily_ on an ASV (Automatic Voltage Stabilizer)?

Temporarily, because the VTG (variable geometry turbine) is stuck, and I want to get this part out of the way by blowing it over the highway before I disassemble everything.
Provisionally, also, because it's my wife's car and advertisements are "bad," you might have too much information icon_smile.gif... She just doesn't want to.

Okay, please provide the German text you would like me to translate into English. I will only provide the translation.

I don't know what the f*ck it was.

1. Model Jan6K: Insertion through a tubing piece using a needle. Problem: Ensuring a permanent, leak-proof seal for the attached tube afterward.

"Model ulf: Remove the AGR valve and install hose nipples. This requires more effort upfront, but sealing it properly afterwards is easy: remove the nipple, insert a threaded plug with one drop of sealant, and you're done."

Can you still return the woman? *nervous laughter*

Or consider the following calculation:
Every two months, a test run with LDA installation and removal is required to detect potential overpressure damage early on. This involves "sacrificing" approximately 2 hours of your free time (which naturally impacts your couple time) for the LDA installation and removal process, including getting dirty hands and clothes.
If this doesn't happen, she may have to pay for a cylinder head gasket repair at the appropriate time, or even replace the entire engine along with the turbocharger if the latter fails and its debris damages the inside of the engine.
An alternative to avoid both of these: Install a child seat base (LDA) permanently in the car.

If you need a discouraging log for confirmation: I did one yesterday, from an unmodified and normally maintained ALH G4: After upshifting + full throttle, the LD (lambda) value rose to about 1.5 bar @ approximately 3000 rpm icon_eek.gif (Target = 0.95 bar), which apparently no one has noticed so far. The error memory was, of course, empty.
At times like those, the battery would likely age at approximately 100 times the normal rate.
Gruß Ulf

Hey,

The "Ulf" model sounds good because, as a collector, hunter, and original parts enthusiast, I naturally have a 501E EGR valve lying around. I plan to use it in the 1Z engine for the shut-off valves.

Attach the icon_twisted.gif nipple and easily measure by simply swapping out the comfortable EGR unit. In the process, the U-shaped hose of the EGR can sometimes come loose }.

"@ Ulf, my ALH engine would also spike to 1.5 bar when I suddenly floored it, then drop back down to 0.8 bar and then up to 0.95 bar. The turbocharger lasted for tens of thousands of kilometers until I removed it. I've observed this behavior in several ALH engines. There are no error codes associated with it. Apparently, it's considered acceptable even with these "overshoots."
