PD motor intermittently fails

Hello,
'I've been experiencing the following problem with my Golf TDI PD model, manufactured in 2001, with an 85kW engine, for a few weeks now.' Within the RPM range of 1300 to approximately 1800, when accelerating after a period of coasting, there are occasional misfires (a feeling similar to a momentary interruption of ignition in a gasoline engine, lasting about half a second).
Does anyone know what this could be?

Are the warning lights flashing?
It sounds like a 106-series relay.
If I weren't sure about that.
The PD already has a different relay.
It could also be the injector control valve.

... I think you mean relay 109... I don't think so...

There are three possible causes for this error with the PD TDI engine:
1. Insufficient pressure from the tandem pump.
2. Unequal PD elements.
3. Software issues in the engine control unit (ECU), but reportedly only in the 74kW version.

Point 3 applied to my 74kW PD engine.

So,
The indicator lights are not illuminated when I experience the intermittent issues. However, the operating speed range is actually around 1500 RPM, not as previously described.

If you could temporarily disable the EGR valve and then try again to see if the error persists.

"The error you described occurred for me in two speed ranges, around 1500 RPM and around 2400 RPM. After disabling the EGR system, the error disappeared (but this shouldn't be a permanent solution as it's illegal)." It's possible that your EGR valve in the intake manifold is not closing completely or is closing too slowly.
