Hello everyone,

I know that there has already been a lot of discussion and writing on this topic, but one question still remains for me (even though I've been browsing through the old posts for quite some time).

Is it possible to have worn fuel injectors but not see any significant correction values in the engine control module (ECM)? In my case, everything seems to be within the acceptable range so far.

I have a 1998 Volkswagen Golf III with a 66 kW ALE engine. It has 230,000 km on the odometer and these are the original injectors.

I'm noticing a slightly increased fuel consumption (around 6.3-6.5 liters per 100 km) and I have the impression that the car isn't accelerating as well as it used to.
However, I have to say that I've been driving mostly shorter distances lately, and I haven't been pushing the engine to its limits.

It would be great if someone could comment on this. The question is whether it's worth replacing the nozzles. It's not a cheap fix, and who knows how long the rest of the system will last.

Greetings.
El Capitan.

oops... I spent 2 hours searching through the old posts and didn't realize that it had just been answered here: https://community.dieselschrauber.org/en/viewtopic.php?t=13694.

I would still be interested in hearing your assessment of the profitability.
