Sometimes, the ESP warning light illuminates on my Golf IV.

"When I turn off the engine and restart it, the error disappears, but it sometimes reappears."

I went to a Volkswagen dealership, and they told me there was a problem with the brake booster pressure.

My question:

Can the pressure be readjusted or adjusted so that the brake pressure is correct again, or does a new brake booster need to be installed?

Does anyone have experience with this? VW wanted to adjust it on the computer, but I'm not entirely sure I trust that.
