No.
Twisting the pump changes the
mechanical baseline setting and shifts the mechanical range within which the electronic control system operates.
If you only adjust the electronic
setpoint values via adaptation, the control system can quickly reach a limit in reality due to the possible actual values, so that the intended success of the adaptation may only be partially achieved.
Therefore, after each adjustment, it should be checked using a test run to see if the injection timing control ratio is frequently hitting its limit. If this is the case, the basic setting of the fuel pump should also be corrected.
