hello,
I have a 1996 AAZ TD engine.
It only starts when I give it full throttle, and then it makes a white noise sound from the back.
If I release the accelerator, it immediately stalls.
Occasionally, he experienced a loss of power while driving on the highway, but it would then return.
And then, one morning, it started and I couldn't drive anymore.
Reading the MWB (manufacturer's build data) won't help because I can't run the engine at idle.
'The following errors are present:'
01050 - Spark plug monitoring.
31-10 - Interruption / Short circuit to ground - Sporadic.
01170 - Injector duration sensor (G175)
03-10 - No signal - Intermittent.
01204 - Engine temperature sensor (G27).
30-10 - Interruption / Short circuit after positive voltage - Occasional.
Can anyone help me with this? Could it be the pump?

If you don't fix them, you will never know. And if you think it's not due to the errors, why are you posting them and asking what it could be?  I mean, do as Rainer says. Remove this, and if it doesn't work, ask again. |

First, I would clear the error memory again and try the whole process again.
If the same errors appear in the error memory, I would check the electrical connections and possibly the ground points/connections (for secure seating/corrosion, etc.).
If that doesn't help, the transistors should be replaced or checked.
Otherwise, the fuel injection pump, diesel filter, fuel lines, or injectors are likely candidates for the cause of your problem.
How many miles/kilometers has the car been driven?
White smoke indicates that a significant amount of water is being burned, and someone may have possibly put something in your fuel tank. Fährt mit Golf 3 TDI Umbau (von AFN auf ARL) |

Please check the basic engine settings (valve timing). The behavior is difficult to explain because normally, the regulator on the pump automatically sets the initial fuel quantity during startup, which is much larger than the full load quantity. Therefore, accelerating during takeoff wouldn't actually achieve anything.
White smoke, possibly. ZKD or premature start of injection.
Since it's an AAZ engine, immediately check the correct positioning of the crankshaft central bolt and the secure fit of the crankshaft pulley when observing the symptoms. If that's okay, check and adjust the valve timing. If that doesn't help, perform a compression test.
Before you start, you can try loosening the retaining nuts on the ESDs (or just on one of them) and then start the engine (without pressing the accelerator). If diesel fuel comes out, at least something is being injected.

The AAZ engine has a mechanical ESP (electronic stability program). Please check the crankshaft pulley bolt; it might be loose, which could affect the timing. White smoke can be caused by unburned diesel fuel due to significantly altered injection timing, provided it's not consuming water!

and it only runs at 300 RPM?
"I experienced the same issue with my AAT TDI. The cause was that the timing belt for the ESP had skipped a tooth."
As my predecessors mentioned, it sounds like it's time for a diesel particulate filter cleaning. The white smoke indicates unburned diesel fuel being injected excessively. Audi 100 C4, Bj 1993, MKB: AAT |

The timing belt is likely misaligned, which is causing the valve timing and fuel injection timing to be incorrect. I once had a similar experience with a T4 1X, where I didn't realize that the crankshaft locking mechanism had come loose while I was adjusting the timing belt tension.
It was barely possible to start the engine before the rev limiter kicked in, otherwise it would have stalled.
Tip: Fixing errors that are currently in memory is more likely to be successful.
In this case, not necessarily, as the AAZ has a mechanical pump with electronic control units. However, it remains a mechanically controlled ESP (Electronic Stability Program), and it should still function even if the electronic components are removed and only voltage is applied to the ELAB (presumably a control module). |
