I have a question. Since I have a chip in my 3rd Golf TDI and it's quite bad (smoke, etc.), we installed an additional 'black box' in it yesterday, the kind that you insert into the fuel injection system. Now, my question is: Does this device actually do anything? I haven't noticed anything different. Is it bad for the control unit, since there are now two power increases? A friend of mine said that it's possible that the control unit could be damaged if you have both a chip and a box in it.
In case of doubt, the box distorts the signals so that the control device cannot process them properly, especially since it is not running the original program, but rather the tuning program of the chip. And together, this results in utter chaos...
... OR...
... there's so much pressure that it can easily melt the pistons, either too quickly or too slowly!
I would advise against doing that!
Each tuning part starts from the "normal state," and this state doesn't actually exist; the box is therefore not running in the environment for which it was designed, and neither is the chip.
I have renamed your topic. The original title "Elektrik" seemed too general, as it could also refer to batteries, starters, connectors, etc.
No worries
Essentially: the control unit cannot be broken easily - at most, it will reach the point of frustration, so that it operates in emergency mode and emits a SOS signal via a light bulb. . .
