I've been giving this some thought. Since I have to wait 30 seconds every morning after starting the engine for the oil to reach the valve lifters, I came up with the following idea.
What if a plunger is not properly lubricated with oil, and as a result, the valves do not open correctly? icon_question.gif

Best, Mike.

It is definitely not normal for oil not to have reached the camshaft 30 seconds after the engine start.

If the valves fail to open within the specified tolerances, it's usually due to...
related to the current oil supply.

Best regards.
Peter.

Whether this is normal or not, we'll leave that aside for now. The question is, is this possible during operation?

poorer gas exchange. What exactly do you want to know? It's obvious that the valves aren't opening completely, right? In addition, the valves are opening later and closing sooner.

Either your hydraulic system is failing, or your oil pump is failing. 30 seconds is too long. If it's happening while driving, the hydraulic system is likely very damaged. Usually, a failing hydraulic system starts having "problems" immediately after starting.
