AG4 EDS: How to Enable/Activate?

Although I don't own a diesel vehicle, I still hope to receive helpful advice from you in this forum.
Having previously been a silent reader, I decided to register because I realized that there are knowledgeable people here who read and sometimes even respond.


Regarding my problems:

I have a T4 (manufactured in 8/9 with a VR6 engine (AES) and an AG4 automatic transmission. The car is supposed to have EDS (Electronic Differential Lock). However, I haven't been able to get it to work so far.
Could the function have been completely disabled? If so, how do I get the EDS (Electronic Data Sheet) working again?

Given recent developments, I'm bringing this post back to the top.

I also own a T4, manufactured in 2001, with a 2.5 TDI ACV engine and ABS/EDS.

"Even with my T4, the EDS (Electronic Data System) isn't working. I have no idea how I could check anything, as everything appears to be okay according to VAGCOM (no error codes). Also, I haven't been able to find a coding list that I could use to verify the coding."

edit: I've been told that there's no coding involved. What's listed under "coding" is actually a Bosch part number.
