Hi fellow DIY enthusiasts!

I want to replace the hydraulic lifters during the cylinder head removal on my Passat TDI 1Z. What should I be aware of to prevent a valve from hitting the piston, besides waiting 30 minutes? Is it a good idea to open each valve for half an hour with the camshaft installed to compress the hydraulic adjustment of the lifter? Thank you in advance! icon_rolleyes.gif

Best regards, Christian.
