Post30-08-2007, 17:03    Subject: Passat 3C: Multifunction Display Upgrade Quote

Hello fellow DIY enthusiasts!

Does anyone know how to unlock additional menus on the "Multifunction Display Plus" in the new Passat 3C?

I am certain that, in addition to light settings such as "Coming home" and "Leaving home," other adjustments can be made without diagnostic equipment, such as...
- Comfort control system, automatic door closing upon vehicle start.
- Honking when locking and unlocking the vehicle.
...
These functions are explained in the operating manual, but they are declared as optional. You only need to enable them. My workshop is not willing to help me with this.

Are these dependent on the state?
-> Encoding "xx?05: Country"
or
-> Adaptation channel #004?
or other hidden bits.

According to the VAG-COM system, the equipment includes:

Address 17: Combination instrument.
Part number SW: 3C0 920 871, HW: 3C0 920 871.
Part: COMBINATION INSTRUMENT VD1 1614
Encoding: 0007105
Address 46: Comfort System.
Part number SW: 3C0 959 433 R, HW: 3C0 959 433 R.
Component: KSG PQ46 ELV 042 0472
Encoding: 0091020051030E763004941570084FCE707C00

Thank you!

Hi.

Okay, forget about the "honking at..." feature. I can't code it with MFA, but I can do it with VAGCOM. Then, only a piezo buzzer from the alarm system will beep. It's kind of embarrassing, so I removed it again.

Generally, those who are actually going to take action need to be properly identified or authenticated.

Okay, gib mir den deutschen Text, den du übersetzt haben möchtest.
Does the vehicle's body control module (BCM) know that I have footwell lights (only available on the Highline trim)? If so, can I adjust them in the Multifunction Display (MFA)? The instrument cluster itself has nothing to do with it.

"Door locking at 15 km/h" should be called "auto-lock," and it has always been available in the MFA+ on both my 3C car and my sister's. We both have the multifunction steering wheel, but that doesn't have anything to do with it.

"Auto-Lock is a function of the comfort control unit. Please take a look at it."

What features do you have? Because there are differences in that area...

Okay, please provide the German text you would like me to translate into English. I will only provide the translation.

Hello,

I think the "honk to acknowledge" function is quite good. In the new Passat, it's a subtle "click-clack" sound, which isn't bothersome. In the Golf IV, however, it was a rather loud noise that was particularly annoying at night.

Bei der MFA+ ist mir jetzt klar, dass je nach Ausstattung weitere Menüpunkte hinzukommen. Radio, navigation system,...

Regarding the comfort control unit, I noticed that the operating manual states that the "alarm with horn" function should be activated. However, since my vehicle has an alarm system with interior monitoring and anti-towaway protection, I'm wondering why this menu option doesn't appear and how to enable it.
I already tried using the encoding "Byte 13 Bit 7 DWA sharpen with horn acknowledge," but I didn't hear anything.

I know that my comfort control unit is malfunctioning because the interior monitoring system occasionally fails, and even the entire "Comfort Settings" menu disappears from time to time. This issue has occurred even before I purchased a CAN bus programming device.

Perhaps someone has access to repair manuals that provide more information about the comfort control unit.

Hello!

Did you also set "Byte 16 Bit 4: DWA siren interface active"?

Sure, Maxx.

Okay, I don't have the extended warranty (DWA) included in my maintenance package. However, I only have the basic extended warranty that comes with the Business Package.

But I've been coding for a while: Byte 11, bit 3, is used for "Locking via the feedback button with horn confirmation," and byte 10, bit 3, serves the same purpose for "Unlocking."

"DWA schaerfen" didn't work for me either.

"Setting byte 16 bit 4 to enable the alarm system siren interface causes the "Alarm confirmation" option to appear in the menu – at least, this is the case with the Golf V."
This allows me to turn the piezo element on and off.

Sure, Maxx.

Hmm.

The bit is set for me, but my MFA+ isn't showing anything... or did I miss something?

I'll check it out in 90 minutes if I have free time.

What is "Regenschliessen"?

Can you leave the windows or roof open, and will they automatically close when the rain sensor detects precipitation?

Why can that stupid G5 do more than my crazy companion?

m;

It's exactly the same with the Vectra C.

The rain sensor automatically closes the open windows of a locked vehicle when it detects rain.

Already unintentionally 'tried it out':

Window slightly open, the paper towel fit perfectly into the window track for cleaning, without falling in or out, and then I sprayed windshield cleaner onto the windshield... icon_rolleyes.gif

Best regards,
Thomas

Rain shuts down and goes.

(2) icon_sad.gif
I received a DWA receipt with the following data: STG 46, Byte 10, Bit 7, WEGNEMHEN, into the MFA, but it's not beeping.

"46/16/4 is also confirmed."

(3) icon_sad.gif
"I can't unlock the tailgate using the factory feature bus (FFB). It keeps showing 'release,' even when I set codes 46/1/5 and 46/1/6 (as instructed)."

(4) icon_smile.gif
"Set the controls to 46/6/6, then the windows will close automatically using FFB (Force Feedback), so you don't have to hold the button down constantly."

EDIT: Additionally, he is now doing the following:
- driving with the windows down.
- ending with
- if the doors remain open and you remove the key.
=> The windows close automatically.
- If you open a door before the latch is fully engaged, it will remain unlatched.

That's exactly how it's coded for me, and it works.
What happens if you add "46/13/7" to it?

The Noe 46/13/7 also doesn't produce any sound.

Interestingly, the value "46/13/7" doesn't change even when I modify it in MFA+.

So, I blocked it again.

I've edited something above to make it coherent.

Your "Edith" sounds cool.
Closing the window when the key is removed...
I also need to get a VAG-COM and start manipulating things icon_wink.gif.

Hi,
You guys have really been working hard in the meantime!
"Dieselmartin, how did you code the rain sensor? I've searched my entire VAG-COM/VCDS installation and can't find anything."
"46/13/7" didn't work for me either. I was wondering if I really have a DWA (Differential Torque Amplifier). Probably just a stripped-down version. In my case, the DWA is coded into the engine control unit (ECU) 46 and not present as a separate module.
Address 46: Comfort System
Label file: RKS\3C0-959-433-46.LBL

Part number SW: 3C0 959 433 R HW: 3C0 959 433 R
Component: KSG PQ46 ELV 042 0472
Encoding: 0091020051030E7634049C1D70084FCE707C00
Workshop # : WSC 00622

Part number: 1K0 951 605 C
Component: LIN BACKUP HORN H03 1301

Part number: 3C0 951 171 A
Component: Tilt sensor 002 0508.

Part number: 3C0 951 171 A
Component: Interior monitoring system 002 0508
.

If removing the setting "46/10/7" actually brings about the long-awaited (finally!!) menu item, then correctly encoding the adjustment channels should yield positive results. Please check if there's any change to be observed with adjustment channels A007 through A012 when the "46/10/7" setting is removed.

ATTENTION!!!
The label file "3C0-959-433-46.lbl" contains an error for adaptation channel A012 (pins 11 and 12 are reversed).
The label file "09-3C0-937-049-23byte.xpl" has an entry that is too long at position byte 07, bit 0. As a result, the remaining bytes in the extended encoding are not displayed correctly.

Regarding the rain sensor closure, it's necessary to adjust the coding for the comfort control module and the rain sensor. Additionally, ensure that the door control modules have the latest software version; otherwise, it won't work on the Passat. If you like, you can send me a complete diagnostic log, and we can review it carefully.

"My apologies for the previous error. This issue only affected versions using English data sets. RKS (also known as Dieselschrauber) uses these English data sets, while other distributors use the German data set – which did not have this problem."

Aktueller englischer Datenstand ist übrigens 20070723, also 23. July 2007.

So, please ask the sales partner to ensure that their data is kept up-to-date and that they completely copy the files from the original version. We all make mistakes, but for questions like this, we are always happy to help. icon_wink.gif

Hmm.

"The 'key off and then close the window' thing seems to have been fake."
Most likely, there were raindrops on the window yesterday.
Because today he has not done it multiple times.
