Hi everyone,
Regarding my 1M1 Leon, I have a question.

My windshield wipers, including the rain sensor, have started malfunctioning again recently.
He wipes too quickly, then not at all, then constantly, and always at his own convenience, which of course I don't like!
I've done some research and found out that, unfortunately, it's not possible to initialize it, which is what I initially thought. Re-encoding is also not possible.
If it turns out to be initializable/encodable, I would be very grateful for a description of its functionality.

Furthermore, the wiper-washer relay receives a speed signal, which (my assumption is) controls the interval function, for example, by reducing the interval during a stationary phase.

Unfortunately, I haven't been able to detect any difference in wiper speed relative to vehicle speed, or any other changes related to speed.

My suspicion is that the wiper relay is either defective or that there is a missing speed signal being sent to the relay.

How can the function of the windshield wiper relay be tested in relation to the speed signal?
Is there a simple and meaningful way to measure a speed signal without using an oscilloscope? If so, how?

Thank you in advance.

Do you often go through a car wash?

My sensor acts up quite a bit every time after going through a car wash.
Apparently, because of the slight streaks left after a single swipe, he believes the wiping wasn't effective and immediately wipes again... and again... and again.

verschandeln the sensor thoroughly with Sidolin to remove any residue from the car wash, and it should work again.

I don't know what the f*ck it was.

Hi,
I think the last time I used the car wash was about 6 weeks ago.
I've already cleaned the rain sensor and the windshield wipers several times, but nothing has worked.
I should have replaced the windshield wipers too, but I could have saved myself that expense as well.

Compared to a friend who owns the same car, it works much better for him!
So, something must be wrong icon_sad.gif.

Hi,

"But does the rain sensor make contact with the windshield without any ridges? Also, if it's the round rain sensor, those aren't as accurate as the older strip-shaped ones or the newer ones with a CCD sensor." The sensors react less to the amount of dirt on the windshield than to the speed at which the dirt accumulates. For example, my system detects fog even with a relatively verschandeln windshield and starts behaving erratically.

hello.
The sensor element is free of bubbles, and I checked the drum with my digital camera, and it's also okay.

I once read somewhere that there are supposed to be different hardware versions of that device.
'In what ways do they differ? How can you identify them?'

Today, I looked at the wiring diagram again and noticed that the reverse gear switch is also connected to it. However, I couldn't figure out what it's supposed to do because when I put the car in reverse, the rear wiper doesn't really work, and I'm not aware of any other function it might have. Is there anything you know about that?

I still think the problem lies somewhere else; I'll probably have to do some measurements tomorrow. icon_confused.gif
