Which engine control units are compatible with the Passat 3B 1.9TDI AFN?

Hello!
Can someone tell me which engine control units (ECUs) are compatible with a VW Passat 3B AFN 1.9 TDI, 110hp, built in 1997, manual transmission? My has the number 028 906 021 DT. VW people said it only fits the 028 906 021 JD part.

For the Passat, these were:
028 906 021 DT
later 028 906 021 GL
now just 028 906 021 JD (at least for VW)
