A2 Doku: 8Z0 MJ 2003, Non-Functional Soft Touch (Solution)

The remote control and possibly the soft-touch features are not working after the car battery was disconnected and reconnected.
This error only occurs in vehicles that are equipped with manual window cranks in the rear.

Cause:
The control unit for the central comfort electronics (ZKE) has entered an "unintentional test mode."

Solution:
If the battery of a vehicle has been disconnected and then reconnected, and this error message appears afterward, proceed as follows:
One of the rear doors must be opened, then (with the vehicle door open), the car battery must be disconnected and reconnected.
