Hello.
I had a faulty clutch pedal switch (see https://community.dieselschrauber.org/en/viewtopic.php?t=17971).). It always showed me status 0, which means 'clutch engaged.' I then installed a new switch. This one works correctly, and the car ran well for a while, then started acting strange again. Since I drove without the switch for a short time and my car was very aggressive with the throttle as a result, I got the idea to disconnect it for a longer period to see how long it would take for the problem to reappear. In this state, the status is always 1, meaning 'clutch depressed.' What's noticeable is the extremely low fuel consumption. With my 17-inch 225 tires, I consistently saw 7.2 liters in the FIS (onboard computer) over 90% of the time for years. Now, with the same driving style, it suddenly shows 6.0-6.1 liters. I've driven for over 8 hours since the reset. The average speed is 48 km/h. Is this reduced fuel consumption explainable? In other words, is it just logical? Or is there a defect in the switch cable or in the control unit?
I didn't perform a basic setting/initialization in each case... Should I have done that so that the control unit could adapt to the new values?

Thank you in advance for your answers icon_smile.gif.

Does your FIS only show this little information?
'Or have you also proven the reduced fuel consumption by measuring the amount of fuel used?'

Even with the 'DIY' tuning using a 180-ohm resistor, the FIS (presumably referring to a display or sensor) shows much too low readings.

Thomas.
