BMW 330 Touring E46 - Can it be read out with VCDS? Parking assist

Hello everyone,

My acquaintance's parking assist system has been malfunctioning for some time.
We would also like to read the error codes.

Does this work with the current version of VCDS?

I have the VCDS RKS 908.1 version here from this shop, along with the serial Hex-Can interface.

How can I read the error codes from a BMW?

No. Depending on the year of manufacture, the engine control unit (ECU) is compatible due to the standardized OBD (On-Board Diagnostics) system.

Is there software available for download for this, or is it only possible through BMW?

We came across the MSG (presumably referring to a vehicle's diagnostic system) while investigating, and in the process, we discovered a sporadic fault with the camshaft sensor.

Sorry, I don't know anything about BMW. It works normally with any universal diagnostic tool, such as Bosch KTS, Gutmann, etc. With VCDS, you can't stop, because it's also a VAG program.
