Gear Oil Change: VW Golf 85kW, 6-Speed, 2000

Since my transmission doesn't shift smoothly (which is probably a common issue with Golfs), I want to change the transmission oil. I've had good results with this in the past with my older Golfs (using Liqui Moly full synthetic).

Is this also approved for the 6-speed transmission (I assume it already contains a full synthetic oil anyway?) or does anyone have another tip? In my 635 Csi, I use ATF (automatic transmission fluid), and it has made a really positive difference.

When I worked at VAG back then, we sometimes had problems with the gear shifting being jerky. The solution was to drain the old oil and replace it with a newer, lower-viscosity oil.
Then, in 95% of all cases, the arguments and disagreements would stop.

Can you tell me the viscosities? I'd also like to change the transmission fluid, but I'm not sure which one is currently in there.
