Hi,
I have a problem with my Alhambra. The MSG is locked in VCDS, so I wait about an hour and then I can access it again. Furthermore, the vehicle does not start until I have access to the MSG again. I drive for a short distance until the engine is slightly warm, turn it off and wait for about 5 minutes, and then I cannot start it and I also cannot access the MSG. When I read the MSG, it shows an error. For the Seat Alhambra 1.9 TDI, manufactured in 1997.

Hello,
Either the engine control unit (ECU) is not functioning (e.g., due to soldering/contacts inside), or it is not receiving any power (search for relay 109).

Hello Rainer,
I have replaced the vacuum hose on the engine control unit and checked the soldered connections. Is Relay 109 also responsible for preheating?

Hello,
Unfortunately, I don't know the Alhambra in detail. The relay doesn't necessarily have to have the marking "109".
In all cases, however, it refers to the relay for power supply to the engine control unit. Since the engine control unit in your car controls the pre-heating, nothing will happen without power.
Possible causes include a faulty ignition switch and/or a blown fuse in the fuse box.

Hi everyone,
The problem was with relay 109. The PCB had a cold solder joint, a new relay was installed, and the vehicle now runs and starts properly again.
Greetings and thank you
