Fake Mileage: Ibiza 6L Car Problems

Hello everyone...

I'm having the following problem with this vehicle (Seat Ibiza 6L, year of manufacture: 2008, engine code: BTS).

After the vehicle had been idle for approximately 3-5 months and the starter battery was completely dead, the odometer reading on the instrument cluster showed about 20,000 km less after replacing the battery. However, the trip meter and odometer function correctly during normal driving.

Mileage displayed on the instrument cluster: 12,687 km.
Effective mileage = approximately 31,700 km.

"Does anyone else experience this issue? Is it possible to increase the mileage reading using VCDS to match the actual mileage? Do you need any further information about the vehicle?"

Unfortunately, nothing can be done with VCDS in this case.
Even the friendly one can't do anything about it.

Could the display showing "10,000" be defective in such a way that only the two rightmost segments of the digit "3" are lit up?

If the manufacturer/importer is unwilling to offer any goodwill or compensation, then a new combination instrument is likely the only option.

This can be checked with a segment test. However, I believe that the display control was designed in such a way that if this were the case, other segments would likely fail as well.

...leave it for just two months and you'll have a brand new car .
