Water Leak Repair: Audi A6 Avant Rear Panel Removal

Hello,

I've had a water leak in the rear left side of my A6 C4 Avant for quite some time now. It's time to do something about it. I've traced a moss-covered stream up to a mounting tab where the small, painted panel (at the bottom of the window) is clipped into the exterior of the D-pillar.

How do you remove it without causing damage?
Are there any other well-known water sources back there?

Do you happen to have a sunroof? The water drainage tubes also run through the D-pillar! Maybe there are some blockages there.
