Hi

How do I remove the Visco fan's fan cage?

We have already removed the fan (including the belt).
Now we see the destroyed warehouse, but

- We do not see a blasting cap.
- Using a screw extractor will not work.

Does anyone have any tips?

Thank you.

Hi!
If no one else knows,
Please take a photo of it. Where it is installed.

I vaguely recall...
I've done something like this before.

Hi

I only have a very detailed image of the warehouse.

Here you can see the viscous coupling - under the alternator:

"Our warehouse" is completely gone and looks like this:

Looks like the 1st. It looks like the trailer is being pulled forward, i.e., away from the direction of travel.
In any case, I don't see any organization, faction, or group that could prevent it icon_wink.gif.

Yep.

Apparently, sometimes the bearing is also secured with a retaining ring.
We can't see that, as we said.
But we weren't about to give up on our "M8-Threaded Rod Towing Vehicle" either.

Therefore, the question arises about persuading people to adopt special ideas.

Possibly, another idea is to also remove the console in which it sits, as this is usually also the case.

Hi!

Yes, that is possible.
It feels familiar to me.

I've removed the casing, and then pressed it in with the press.

Alternatively, it might also be possible to work with heat.
heat the case up to 100 °
"You might also try to figure out, somehow..."
and cooling the new container in the refrigerator or with a refrigerant spray.
And then place it in the hot casing. If you're really determined, of course.
Grüße, Steffen!

With M8, this probably won't work... M10 with 10.9 should be sufficient.
Stretch until you feel the pain, and if possible, knock from behind.

I would probably also protect the radiator, just in case the screw flies around your ears...

Doesn't work --> Remove the console icon_wink.gif I thought it would be obvious.

Oops

Sorry, it was an M10 we had in there.
But with a 1.5 degree slope and with a 10mm beech wood support on the console.

Possibly, we will need to work with more robust materials.

Thank you for the tip about the radiator protection.

Hi, as you can see, something is missing... a few balls.

Okay

Using a self-made removal sleeve (internal diameter of the pipe >40mm, with a 5mm cap), we were able to remove the bearing.

EDIT: Measure the new bearing beforehand to determine the required depth of the sleeve. Our one was 5mm too short.

Re-start with a 30er or 27er nut.
The 30s, with an outer diameter of exactly 40mm, provided a better fit, but there was a risk that they would also become fixed within the housing later on.
Therefore, we used the 27mm to push the last 5mm.

In order to even be able to operate the machine, the fan with its pulley must of course be disconnected.
To do this, we placed an M5 screw on a metal frame and then cut it to the right length so that it would fit between the blade and the Visco:

For this, we fried an M5 on a stand.

That's right, you still need to learn how to weld icon_lol.gif icon_wink.gif icon_razz.gif

But the main thing is that it's working. icon_wink.gif icon_wink.gif
