A3 8P 170PS CFGB --> 177PS CFGC?

Hello everyone,

as I have now read, the 2.0TDI CFGB and CFGC appear to be identical in hardware. Is it possible to essentially "upgrade" simply by swapping the engine control unit? I haven't found much information about this online, which is making me suspicious.
For me, however, it is also questionable whether a CFGC control unit from the A4 would work with my A3. Specifically regarding WFS and all the CAN messages from the vehicle environment.
