hi everyone,

'I'm having a problem with power loss around 2000 rpm. I was just at the workshop, and as expected, a 'charge air cooler control difference' error was displayed in the diagnostic memory. I've now figured out that it might be due to a stuck VTG linkage, and that it should be checked and possibly cleaned. Now, the problem: Where is this thing located (on the turbocharger - that's obvious, but where exactly)? Do I have to remove the entire turbocharger to get to it? Or is there a way to access it without removing the turbo?'

Volkswagen Golf III Variant TDI AFN 110 hp.

Hi.

On my tractor, you can still easily access it: At the top of the loader, you can see the membrane housing for the VTG adjustment. Above it is the control hose, and below it, the actuation rod comes out.

You'll probably have to find the rest yourself }.
I didn't have to do any dismantling during the VTG activities.
However, if you remove the double-angled pipe leading to the charger inlet (with the KGE connection), you will have a clearer path.

Okay, I found it. This thing also moves (even with the engine off). Does it need to be moved while the engine is running? I haven't tried it because I wasn't sure if something could break.

Here too, the search function is your friend and helper...

For example, it provides the following:
