Hello everyone, this is about an Audi A6 3.0 TDI with 180 kW / 500 Nm from March 2012.
Avant, S-tronic, quattro, sport differential, tire size 255/40R19.
I have the feeling that this animal isn't performing well in terms of its feed intake.
On the highway, it feels a bit sluggish when accelerating from a moderate speed.
Overtaking can lead to misunderstandings in these situations. Even a Golf 2.0 TDI with 150 hp or a BMW 320d might struggle to accelerate past or keep up at 100 km/h, making it difficult to overtake. The Audi only performs better above 180 km/h. It reaches its top speed, but that takes time, starting around 220 km/h... Recently, a VW Touareg with a 3.0 TDI was in front of me. This SUV was even able to pull away, despite being at least 250 kg heavier and having significantly more aerodynamic drag.
Okay, I'm not trying to make any comparisons here, but it lacks the sense of authority and control that I would expect from a car like this. My family also has a 4F sedan with nominally 5 horsepower less and a ZF automatic transmission with 6 speeds. That one performs better in the speed range mentioned. It only has 17-inch tires, but the difference shouldn't be that significant.

Here are two diagrams from a VCDS log recording. The mass airflow sensor never reaches its target value.
Gears 5 through 6 are engaged, and gear 6 is selected. The turbocharger pressure builds up with a delay.

Is this deviation normal? Could the mass airflow sensor be defective? Where else could I look?
DPF loaded with 0.15L, which is within the acceptable range.

Perhaps the car isn't as responsive as it should be, but I want to make sure that nothing is broken.

Hi,

Okay, I can't really make out much from this... Could you please upload the raw .csv file of an acceleration process, including torque limits and speed data?

You could also simply have a power measurement performed by KPower.

Best regards, Rainer.

Hi Rainer, please find the CSV file attached.
I am particularly interested in understanding why the LMM target value is not being reached.

Hi,

The values look normal to me, but someone else might notice something.
It might also be interesting to have a log that includes information such as engine speed, engine torque, target boost pressure, and fuel injection volume.

Have you already done the performance testing?

Best regards, Rainer.
