Hi,

If any of you are using the Matra VW 3099 crankshaft holder icon_exclaim.gif to hold the crankshaft (e.g., when changing the crankshaft bolt), I strongly recommend replacing the two screws of the holder with high-strength (12.9) screws icon_exclaim.gif icon_exclaim.gif. Currently, 8.8 screws are installed. When tightening/loosening the crankshaft bolt, these two screws bent icon_evil.gif in my case. Fortunately, the crankshaft pulley was not damaged. I then inquired at an AUDI workshop, and a friendly employee informed me that the original 8.8 grade screws are far too weakly sized, and therefore, in the workshops, the 8.8 grade screws on the counter-holder are replaced with 12.9 grade screws icon_exclaim.gif.
