Hey everyone!
Thankfully, the guy can also speak German, right? !!
(My parents were from [Country/Region], and we always spoke German at home.)
I've been reading here since 2005 under the username "Kolbenfresser".
I live in the state of Maine, which is the northeasternmost part of the United States. It gets extremely cold in the winter, like in Scandinavia, and we usually install engine pre-heaters right away.
"My whole life, I've been a fool - no matter which way the crankshaft turns."
Currently in residence at the court:
4 VW TDI vehicles, model years 2002-2006 -- 3 with broken automatic transmissions (JUNK!!), one with a manual transmission (the good one).
1 Mazda diesel pickup truck 1984
1 Ford Ranger diesel pickup truck 1983
2 Ford ambulances, 1992, 7.3 diesel (one converted to a workshop vehicle, one converted to a workshop/tow truck).
4 agricultural tractors.
The Mazda and the Ranger 1/2-ton pickup trucks both have the same Perkins 2.2L engine and no complicated electronics. I usually drive past them because they make a rattling noise like the old diesel engines.
I hope I can finally figure out how to deal with these VW TDI automatic transmissions â 3 of them have broken down within 2 years!!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I2v2ybJr6AY https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eb8F1ZIMLB0Kenworth, Peterbilt, Mack, Unimog, Caddy, Golf, Jetta - you name it... if it runs on diesel I love it...
