Adjustable Oil Ash Volume for BKS Filters?

Hello diesel enthusiasts,

ich ärgere mich hier mit einem Touareg aus 2006 herum. Engine is BKS.

The vehicle has had a 'reconditioned' DPF installed for some time now (the customer took care of this). Since then, the error code P242F keeps appearing, and the car is going into limp mode.

I've had good luck with ash mass balance matching in the past, but unfortunately, it doesn't seem to work with the BKS system.

If I understand correctly, adaptation K.81 simply resets everything to zero (new OE filter), and K82 is unclear to me. It seems intended for adapting an old DPF to a potentially replaced engine control unit (ECU). Could this be used to circumvent something?

It should be customizable, please post an Autoscan.

Problems like the ones you're describing should not occur when the DPF is "empty" rather than "full." It's possible that the DPF regeneration process is being initiated too frequently, but that's likely the only issue.

"Error code P242F, in my opinion, indicates that the DPF is clogged. Let's see what the car scan shows."
Does the AGR system function correctly? Does the engine not require oil and avoid oil dilution issues? Is the turbocharger intercooler system leak-free? Are all temperature sensors on the DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) functional and properly connected?

Normally, it's adaptation channel 12, but it should be specified in VCDS.

When a DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) has been regenerated or cleaned, the ash mass should be reset to as close to zero as possible; otherwise, problems may occur.

'Please provide the Autoscan data as soon as possible. The error reappears within seconds, and regeneration cycles are not completing. Oil dilution was noticeable, but the oil has now been changed. Temperatures and other parameters appear to be reasonable.'

It's noticeable that the car has a pungent exhaust smell and sometimes produces smoke. Injector for cylinder 1 was clearly faulty (diagnostic code 72) and has already been replaced.

If not already done, perform the initialization of the particulate filter in the adaptation channels of the engine control unit, and if possible, reset the learned values.
Removing and cleaning a diesel particulate filter (DPF)

After that, try to initiate a forced regeneration, and if successful, record the differential pressure at the DPF and compare those values with the ones discussed in this forum.
At the top of this forum, there's a topic with comparison values related to that.

A forced regeneration is currently not being completed. Unfortunately, I cannot make sense of the termination conditions.

Okay, here are the logs for MWB 101, 102, and 104 during the forced regeneration process.

Also, a photo is also needed for release/termination conditions, soot buildup, etc.




I am currently unable to use Scope because I don't have access to my email address or login credentials. However, I am working on resolving this issue.

899°C is too hot... for example, in the BRE motor, it was regulated down starting at 820°C.

If he's not fully recovered, just try again.

Something happened with my account here... I had to register again.

The "899 degrees" reading also caught my attention, but I've come to the conclusion that this parameter likely has no effect, as there is no sensor for that temperature on the car. There are only sensors for turbocharger temperature and pre-DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) temperature. These two values are present and within acceptable ranges.

What do you think about the differential pressure values? I don't find them to be unusually high. The ash content is at 0, and the sulfur entry is below the limit values. Why is it even reporting an error?

Either there's too much oil in the DPF, which explains the high temperature and possibly the failure of the regeneration process.
Find out why it's not regenerating.

Or maybe the temperature sensor is faulty... you can check the readings to see what other values it's displaying.

Normally, at idle, the temperature is between 100-200°C.

It might be worth trying to drive with the DPF temporarily removed (be careful that nothing falls off), but the engine should not produce excessive smoke or black exhaust.

This parameter always displays 899 degrees, even when the vehicle is ice cold, but there is no corresponding sensor reading. There is only one sensor on the turbocharger and one on the DPF inlet. These sensors are also behaving realistically (see log).

Is the engine control unit (ECU) software genuine?

I don't really have any reason to believe otherwise. The car has been with the customer for many years, and definitely nothing has been changed.

Is that verifiable?
